NSW advice in the new financial year is to look at all other visa options before apply for state nomination. This is due to a low number of places expected to be available for state nomination and high demand, it is unlikely you will receive state nomination. NSW see the highest number of applications for state nomination. In the 2019-2020 financial year they only opened 491 visa applications for one week in June and if you weren’t already living and working in a regional area you wouldn’t be able to meet the requirements that week to be able to submit an application.
If you are interested in state nomination NSW is the hardest state to receive nomination from.
